Let's dive in!

Michael Araula, Senior Tier 1 Support Specialist

Q: Tell us about what you do here at Odaseva.

A: As a Senior Tier 1 Support Specialist, I am the primary point of contact for our customers. My mission is to quickly triage incoming tickets, diagnose root causes, resolve standard technical issues, and provide customers with targeted resources like our Knowledge Base articles. For highly complex cases, I ensure we capture deep technical diagnostics before seamlessly escalating the ticket to Tier 2 Support or the Product team. Ultimately, I serve as the team’s eyes and ears on the front lines, monitoring case trends to help us continuously improve the support experience.

Alongside my primary support responsibilities, I also operate as a Managed Backup Services (MBS) team member. In this capacity, I proactively oversee, manage, and optimize Salesforce backups for our enterprise customers. My core objective here is ensuring business continuity by keeping customer backup success rates high while strictly maintaining their Salesforce API and Governor limits.

Q: What’s the team that you work with like?

A: The Global Support team is a highly collaborative, tight-knit group dedicated to mutual growth. We don't just focus on customer success; we constantly push each other to expand our technical knowledge and always have each other’s backs. This supportive dynamic perfectly embodies one of our core OdaValues, 'One' - acting as a single, unified team that builds collective intelligence through trust. Together, we are committed to delivering 'white-glove' service, ensuring our customers not only get their issues resolved quickly but walk away with an exceptional experience.

Q: Why did you join Odaseva?

A: I joined Odaseva because it offered the perfect environment to challenge myself and pivot into a customer-facing role. Prior to this, my background was primarily in backend operations, supporting internal teams. I wanted to transition to the front lines where I could directly impact customer success while rapidly scaling my technical knowledge. I was also drawn to the agility of a fast-growing company. I wanted a hands-on environment where I could make a direct, tangible impact and help us punch above our weight class to win against larger competitors.

Q: What do you like about working at Odaseva?

A: What I love most about Odaseva is how incredibly collaborative the culture is, across all departments. Everyone here shares a genuine 'all hands on deck' mentality and a deep commitment to our customers' success. If I run into a complex issue that goes beyond my immediate Support team, there are no silos - I know I can reach out to cross-functional partners and count on them to immediately jump in and help. That level of trust and mutual support makes a massive difference in how we deliver value.

Q: How did you come to join the Salesforce ecosystem?

A: My journey in the Salesforce ecosystem began in 2020 through “Year Up”, an incredible workforce development program that connects motivated young adults with top-tier corporate employers. I landed an HRIS internship at Salesforce itself, initially focusing on the Workday platform. However, working at Salesforce, I quickly became fascinated by the power of the platform. I proactively taught myself how to navigate it by shadowing my peers, eventually transitioning to hands-on work like building reports and handling data analytics. That early exposure sparked a passion for the ecosystem that ultimately drove my career path.

Q: What’s your proudest work-related accomplishment or project?

A: My proudest work-related accomplishment was earning my promotion to Senior Tier 1 Support Specialist earlier this year, after about a year and a half with Odaseva. This was a massive milestone for me because it validated my growth in both technical depth and customer-facing skills. Transitioning into this space came with an incredibly steep learning curve, but dedicating myself to mastering the platform day after day truly paid off. It is a powerful reminder of how far I’ve come, and it only fuels my drive to keep pushing myself and learning more.

Q: What else can you tell us about yourself?

A: Outside of work, I try to get outdoors as much as possible. Growing up as a San Francisco native, I actually didn't explore much of the Bay Area's outdoor scenery, so I'm making up for lost time now. In my free time, I love tackling challenging trail hikes and walks - both for the views and the great cardio. I also love playing pickup basketball at different local recreation centers; it’s a fantastic way to stay active and connect with new people in the community. And when I’m not outdoors, you can usually find me relaxing at home and hanging out with my cat, Mochi.
