Remy Claret, Chief Growth Officer and Co-Founder at Odaseva

Let's dive in!

Remy Claret, Chief Growth Officer and Co-Founder at Odaseva

Q: Tell us about what you do here at Odaseva (you can describe your missions, responsibilities, objectives)

A:  As the Chief Growth Officer and Co-Founder at Odaseva, I lead with my team our business development efforts. This includes analyzing and seizing new market opportunities, from use cases to geographies, while maintaining close relationships with industry analysts (such as Gartner), financial analysts, investment banks, and venture capital firms. I also focus on forging resell and distribution partnerships with major data players and marketplaces to scale faster. My team also helps define Data Edge use cases, from mock-ups to architecture, and oversees our commercial mid-market segment, which ties into future resale opportunities. Overall, my role is about identifying where Odaseva should grow next and building the right paths to get there. Ultimately, all of this serves one goal: accelerating Odaseva’s growth by opening markets that would be harder or slower to reach organically.

Q: What’s the team that you work with like? (you can describe the team spirit, the work environment, the team rituals, ...)

A:  The team I work with is all about diversity and complementarity. We bring different backgrounds, geographies, and skill sets. It’s like a puzzle of diverse expertise, from program management and investor relations, to mid-market sales development, research on Data Edge use cases, and strategic partnerships. We’re agile, focused on preparing the commercial future, not just for today, but for tomorrow, by securing current markets and defining new ones.

Q: Why did you join Odaseva?

A: I joined Odaseva right after the Series A, with a clear mandate: to help structure and build the go-to-market organization, as the CMO of the company. At the time, sales, pre-sales, customer success, and marketing were still being shaped, and I was recruited to create the marketing team entirely from scratch. Over the following five years, I built and developed core functions such as Brand & Strategy, Communications & Content, Digital Demand Generation, Event Marketing, Product Marketing, Partner Marketing, and Sales Operations.

About a year and a half ago, Sovan asked me to take on Business Development and Corporate Development responsibilities to prepare Odaseva for its next phase. This phase is much more open to strategic partnerships, particularly around our latest Data Governance and Data Edge offerings, and focuses on accelerating sales through a mix of direct and indirect strategies, while expanding into new markets driven by large-scale data initiatives.

Q: What do you like about working at Odaseva?

A:  What I particularly love about working at Odaseva is its international nature and its innovative spirit and its focus on technological excellence. We began in “traditional data protection” but now navigate multi-ecosystem domains that are core to large enterprises’ data strategies with a very large number of use cases. I love that we guide and support clients on their data journeys, focusing on large, complex transformations that bring real value. Plus, Odaseva’s agility (short, iterative cycles) means there’s never a dull moment. You simply can’t get bored!

Q: How did you come to join the Salesforce ecosystem?

A:  I formally joined the Salesforce ecosystem when I joined Salesforce itself. However, even before that, I was already exposed to it in an extended sense. At Genesys, where I worked previously, we often had deep integrations with Salesforce at customer sites. So, I was familiar but not fully immersed. When I joined Odaseva, that’s when I truly became embedded in the heart of Salesforce solutions. Also, prior to Odaseva, I spent six years in San Francisco, frequently attending Salesforce events like Dreamforce, meeting many people in the ecosystem. So, I was well initiated even before officially joining. That background made the transition to Odaseva very natural, as I already understood both the ecosystem and its strategic importance for large enterprises.

Q: What’s your proudest work-related accomplishment or project?

A: I’m particularly proud to see that the functions I created or helped build have now become fully-fledged teams or departments. When I joined Odaseva, I was the only person in marketing, wearing all hats. Over time, these hats were distributed across more and more people, leading to specialized teams. For instance, Sales Ops was once a newly created function within marketing and is now a full department. Seeing needs turn into skills, which evolve into programs, processes, and teams, that’s truly gratifying. It’s the framework of scale, turning ideas into projects, projects into programs, and programs into streams. That evolution, especially in marketing, Sales Ops, and business development, is something I’m particularly proud of. In short, what matters most to me is creating structures that allow others to specialize, grow, and perform at their best.

Q: What else can you tell us about yourself? (anything personal or other related-work facts you would like to share)

A:  What I can share is that I have a deep love for multicultural and diverse environments. That’s why I’ve always worked far from my original setting. I was trained as a telecom engineer in France, but after years in system architecture and system integration, I evolved into consulting and pre-sales, marketing, and now business development. My drive is to keep learning, cross skills, and bring fresh perspectives. I hope I’ve fostered collaboration between very different teams. I’ve worked in France, Germany, the US, and Spain, always valuing the unique angle each culture and background brings. I love learning from those differences and acting as a hub, hopefully turning those differences into a richer, more innovative puzzle. I genuinely believe that innovation happens at the intersection of differences, and I’ve always enjoyed being part of that intersection!

Thank you for sharing your experience, Remy!
