Continuing our OdaTeam Spotlight Series, today we’re featuring Siham Boutayeb, a Senior Principal Solutions Engineer based in Paris who joined Odaseva in 2019.

Q: Tell us about what you do here at Odaseva

A: As a Senior Principal Solutions Engineer, my role involves blending Odaseva’s data security solutions with the specific requirements of enterprise Salesforce Orgs, typically characterized by Large Data Volumes and complex data models. It’s all about hypercare, as our business revolves around giving our customers peace of mind. Our product line prioritizes the security, compliance, and overall health of our customers’ data, allowing them to focus on their core business. Another aspect of my role as a Principal is to support the team and collaborate with our VP of Solutions Engineering on various initiatives. I like to think that I am a bit of a Swiss army knife with sparkles!

Q: What’s the team that you work with like?

A: Very very smart! One of the really cool things about Odaseva is that our CEO, Sovan Bin has a deep understanding of our role and encourages us to be innovative and challenge the status quo. The Solutions Engineering team gets to collaborate with multiple teams – Product, Expert Service, Managed Backup Services, Support, and Sales to name a few. Q: Why did you join Odaseva?

A: In May 2019, I was thrilled to join the Solutions Engineering team at Odaseva. I was eager to bring my experience in security, presales, expert services and consultancy to contribute to the team’s and company’s growth. I had the pleasure to interview directly with our CEO, Sovan Bin and our Chief Growth Officer, Vincent Delamarre. Their vision and enthusiasm was infectious and we just clicked! Having built my career in well-established multinationals, I saw in Odaseva an opportunity to contribute to the growth of a startup  where my skill set and energy would be valued! 

Q: What do you like about working at Odaseva?

A: I work with very intelligent and caring people, with amazing backgrounds and skills. It is both humbling and exciting as you never know what the day may bring. It’s a privilege for a customer to trust you, share their business challenges, and for me to help provide solutions. I love solving complex puzzles with multiple moving parts. Working on an innovative technical strategy, being a player in a winning team and then having a customer select you to handle their business is always a thrill! I’m proud to be part of a company that delivers innovative solutions while exceeding expectations.

Q: How did you come to join the Salesforce ecosystem?

A: I was a security engineer at Symantec in Dublin in 2011 and after five years of supporting enterprises with highly scalable infrastructures, I became an expert in handling escalations for tier 1 customers. I was astonished to discover that some multinational companies were using solutions that did not align with their business needs. And so, I pursued a role as a presales consultant, which contributed to the growth of RemedyForce, the first ITSM solution on Salesforce. RemedyForce was the precursor to Salesforce Field Service. I helped build the practice through technical presales, evangelization and partner enablement while traveling all over the world for five years! 

Q: What’s your proudest work-related accomplishment or project?

A: One of my proudest work-related accomplishments at Odaseva was the Volkswagen project. It presented a formidable technical challenge, requiring a winning strategy and exceptional teamwork. We delivered a comprehensive solution that not only satisfied the customer but also fostered a lasting relationship. This project strengthened our global customer base as well as pushed the boundaries of our technical expertise, solidifying our reputation as leaders in Salesforce data governance.

Q: What else can you tell us about yourself?

A: I’m a bit of a Renaissance woman, driven by an insatiable curiosity that knows no bounds. Whether it’s delving into the intricacies of technology or exploring the beauty of nature, my interests are as diverse as they come. From my love for travel to my recent interests in tennis and stone painting, I’m always eager to learn and grow. Life is an ever-evolving journey, and I embrace it with open arms, eagerly anticipating the next chapter. I believe in the beauty of continuous self-improvement and savoring the richness that every experience offers. So, as I look forward to new challenges and discoveries, I’m excited about the endless possibilities life has to offer. I’m currently in the process of learning to read Arabic, and for the past few years, I’ve developed a keen interest in furthering my knowledge about APIs and AI, a realm of technology that continues to fascinate me.
